Solid Mechanics

This department is active in different technical majors such as micromechanics, composite, deformation, vibrations, control and robotics, smart materials, tension analysis, designing tanks under pressure, designing advanced materials, numeric methods in solving solid mechanics problems, such as finite element method, mesh-free method, differential quadrature method, etc.

Solid Mechanics is one of the few majors in which students not only study theoretical lessons but also learn their lessons experimentally in the laboratory or at workshops. Welding and sheet metal, machinery tools and manufacturing as well as vehicle mechanics workshops of the university are managed by the department. In this department, there are laboratory equipment of materials for strength, dynamic and vibrations laboratory, composite laboratory, machine tools, workshop, Welding Tool, and Auto Mechanic workshop. The correspondence laboratories of the department are Dynamics and Vibrations, Strength of materials, and Nano-composite research.

Different computational and skill-based courses, such as CATIA, ABAQUS, Autocad, Matlab, and Solidworks software are held in the department of Solid Mechanics Engineering. Therefore, the graduated students have the potential to work in industrial areas.
